Our Culture

At Arysta LifeScience we are intentional about creating a culture that delivers results while supporting employees in finding their own balance between work and family, fosters an environment that encourages employees to make healthy choices, and supports the community in which we live and operate.

Family Friendly

Family FriendlyFor the fourth year in a row, Arysta LifeScience has been named to Carolina Parenting Inc.'s North Carolina Family-Friendly 50 list. Carolina Parenting Inc. created this recognition in 1999 to honor companies that help working parents by offering family-friendly programs, policies, and opportunities. Arysta LifeScience was chosen again in 2011 based on our mix of solutions that help employees balance work and family responsibilities - solutions such as top-notch benefits, creative at-work programs and workplace flexibility.

Wellness

WellnessOur cross-functional employee Wellness Council leads the way in promoting activities that encourage employees and their family members to make healthy choices. Arysta LifeScience North America commits to providing healthy options such as whole grains, fruits and vegetables at all company meals and functions. Through monthly health topics and periodic challenges, our employees continue to improve and foster a healthy work environment.

Community

Arysta LifeScience believes in supporting our community through the following partnerships:

Daughters & Sons to Work Day

Daughters & SonsEach year the employees and families of Arysta LifeScience host a "Take Your Daughters & Sons to Work" day of fun and discovery. Children participate in employee-led activities and are given insight into Arysta LifeScience and the challenges their parents face in attaining a healthy work and life balance. Children are also given the opportunity to discuss what happiness and personal fulfillment mean to them. An element of fun is provided with hands-on activities such as seed science and art projects that fully engage the children and add an educational aspect to the event.

Project Evergreen

A national non-profit organization whose mission is to preserver and enhance green space for today and future generations.  In support of Project Evergreen and the United Way, Arysta LifeScience employees, spouses and friends volunteered their time in 2010 to enhance the outdoor living space at The Haven House treatment facility for vulnerable kids in Raleigh, N.C. In addition to improving the outdoor area around The Haven House, the Arysta LifeScience volunteers prepared an outdoor sitting area that will provide an open, safe space for Haven House clients and employees.

United Way

Our employees have demonstrated community support in a big way year after year through our United Way Campaign. In 2010 over 75% of the Cary-based employees contributed towards Arysta LifeScience making a donation of over $25,000.

Additionally, we identified a United Way Partner Agency, the Wake County Boys and Girls Club, to whom we made donations of art and craft supplies, sporting goods and recreation equipment. The organization serves thousands of boys and girls in our community.

In 2009, Arysta LifeScience was awarded the prestigious "Best First Time Campaign" designation by the United Way of the Greater Triangle for fundraising efforts for the local United Way.  In 2010, Arysta LifeScience was recognized with the Campaign Leader Award from the Greater Triangle United Way for going above and beyond to raise funds for this worthy cause.

The National Future Farmers of America Organization (FFA)
For over ten years, Arysta LifeScience has sponsored five national FFA scholarships to reward and encourage excellence, and to enable students to pursue their educational goals. Scholarship recipients are selected from thousands of applicants from across North America. Selections are based on the applicant's academic record, FFA and other school and community activities as well as participation in a supervised agricultural experience program in agricultural education and the student’s future goals.

Salvation Army Angel Tree
Through this program, the employees of Arysta LifeScience have enabled more than 40 children annually, over 5 years, to experience the delight of receiving Christmas gifts. At Christmas time, the Arysta LifeScience Angel Tree, in the Cary office displays the names of the recipient children.
